Comparing him to the President shows just how twisted our population's understanding of Al-Qaeda's current make up has become. He was a leader a decade ago.
The current iteration of "Al-Qaeda" has only the idea driving it in common with the hierarchical Al-Qaeda of a decade ago.
People's perception of reality matters more in these situations than actual reality. The fact that the average guy in the street probably still thinks/thought of him as the head of al-Qaeda is the important part.

The XBox seems to be doing pretty well.
The following is from Gamespot. com

Its quarterly operating loss went from $175 million in 2005 to $388 million in 2006."
However with the Games console Microsoft can make money from Game sales and liscensing. Since Apple has already admitted that the iTMS has razor thin profits, they won't be able to duplicate that revenue stream in this area.

I think this a threat, but I think Apple may have this covered.

You're kidding, right? They'll play this game in court but Apple has a metric s--t ton of money just sitting in the bank. And when they want parts and approach Samsung for them, Samsung won't react like, "No way dude, you were mean." They'll see billions of dollars being offered their way and they'll take it, because this is business. There are other companies that supply these parts too, not just Samsung. Let me clarify that in no way am I saying everything Apple does is perfect and Samsung should feel privileged to do business with them, and as far as who copied who goes is not part of my argument (I love both Apple and Samsung), but please don't kid yourself if you think a lawsuit will stand in the way of making a crap ton of money.

OS X isn't perfect, and it's unreasonable to expect that it will never ever be breached.
That said, Apple have done a great job thus far. My worry isn't so much individual (trivial?) exploits, but rather that OS X would go down the XP route and require constant patching. The last thing Apple needs is to have to fight fires in the same way Microsoft has had to with XP.
Security is a key selling point for the mac platform and it is essential that Apple maintain their advantage with the vastly improved Vista fast approaching.
I hope Apple will address these problems with the urgency they merit.

Seriously, why not an Imac with touch-screen right now? Will we need to wait for the next iMac update to see this technology implemented?
Oh yeah definitely I love the thought of controlling my computer by poking the screen, yeah I just love the fingerprints on the glass of my screen so much and the mouse is so CLUNKY, all it's good for is stuff like doing work and getting stuff done.

if MS makes it cheaper than an iPod then Apple might have some trouble. Parents/grandparents who are technologically ignorant will generally buy whatever Bestbuy salesman pimps to them for their kid. So if it is cheaper than an iPod with similar functions then a lot will be bought.
I think people are very wrong here.
iPod is the cool thing. It is the brand name. It is what everyone asks for, even if they're using a generic term.
If you have an identical iPod and identical Microsoft brand side by side, people will go for the iPod, because it is the standard they are comfortable with. Even my grandparents konw what an iPod is. It is the Windows / MS Office of the music player world.
I know its a hard thing to wrap our minds around, but in this particular space, Apple is the established gorilla and everyone has to fight for the extra mindshare. People gravitate to the iPod, and will look at an MS offering with suspicion. "What does Microsoft have to do with Music? Aren't they a computer company?"

Apple has had a phenomenal run. They are doing this on all fronts. They have 2 Billion CASH! That is a big deal. It keeps the R&D funded.
Actually they have over $6 billion in cash and another almost $4 billion in liquid, short term investments...so they really have $10 billion in cash, up from just over $8 billion a year ago.

Apple actually NEVER tells case manufacturers when there's going to be updated/changed specifications, so case manufacturers never know. Case in point...the Verizon iPhone and it's change. Not one case manufacturer knew before hand. And the manufacturers that this hurts the most are the smaller, more custom/high end case manufacturers, like all of the CNC guys. Just creates more setup for them, and a headache to run pieces at yet another dimension. I have quite a few friends in this line of work, and I know how they hated the unannounced change in specs to the Verizon model.
So what are the stories on this site about cases for upcoming products? Are manufacturers gambling on leaked information? I'm just asking; not being sarcastic.
In this case I think Apple would as they provided bumpers themselves for the antenna issue. I believe they would want properly fitting bumpers for this version.
Anyway I think the size is still the same. The current cases should go on like white on rice.

How do these analysts earn money? Who ever pays them, should be fired. If we have to wait until September for the iPhone/iPod refresh, it's going to be 5 long and painful months putting up with all this crap everyday from the rumormill.

The real question is - will the back lit keyboard be reintroduced? I sure hope so. Couldn't care less about gaming but I want to see what I type in a meeting room (and don't get started with the whole "learn to type" BS)...:rolleyes:

Since the iPhone 4 is a strong hardware device and now that we have the iPad 2 out, I think most of the focus for the short term has been on Lion and iOS 5. iOS 5 could bring some really great features to the existing hardware and buy Apple the time to make the next hardware change more significant.
We will see... but in the long run, it should be good.
