Please do not go for stamping if it can be avoided, as embassies are very frequently giving form 221(g) for additional administrative processing which may take few weeks to several months.

There are websites that the US consulates maintain listing the case numbers with their status. I am currently waiting for my H-1B visa petition decision in hyderabad. Below is the link the website maintained by the US consulate in hydererabad. There are similar websites for other US consulates in India

221g covers a broad sprectum of pending cases, be it name check or any other administrative processing. I personally was requested additional information that I have submitted about 5 weeks ago. This website is update twice weekly with each case status (pending, awaiting petitioners response, send passport).

I am attending my visa interview next week in one of the Indian consulate. Sometime back I came across a website which lists each persons interview date and there visa status - approved/denied. I am not able to re-collect that link
Does any one has any idea?. Basically that link shows the status of visa interviews conducted.

Would going to Canada and re-entering without going for visa stamping count as lawful entry??
Or one has to go and get the visa stamped to qualify as lawful entry??
Also when you go to Canada and come back Without VISA stamping, he gets the same I-94 or different I-94??

I am just wondering if notice date and receipt date combination means anything in terms of when the EAD will be processed?
I think so since lots of people with receipt date same as mine, who have their EADs approved had an earlier notice date .
Also other people with same notice date with EADs approved had an earlier receipt date.
Just trying to gather some evidence here.

Dear fellow IV members,
I was just referring to my first application for EAD filed by my lawyer (july filer)
For Q#12 - Date of last entry into the US - my lawyer had entered (05/10/2007) - the H1-B approval date in date of last entry in to US - is this because of the new I-94 attached to H1-B approval notice?
But the I-94 in the passport shows my actual physical entry into US after my last visit outside the country - 08/10/2006.
I have not traveled outside the country after renewing my H1-B.
Which date did you guys put - the actual date of physical entry or the I-94 start date after renewal of H1-B?

Just be truthful in your applications and things will be fine.
If you are not legally divorced, make sure you do mention your wife's name in your 485 application. If you do not file a separate 485 for her, she will not get any GC. INS can not grant GC to anyone who doesn't even ask for it. Your GC will not be affected if you file for only yourself. So you save money on one 485 filing and we all get one extra GC slot.

Married but seperated. What should that person mention in the form?
If he mentions his wife's name on the form, would she get GC as well?
Does he need to submit any docs for his wife? Currently planning to file for himself only.
